Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you find a combination of numbers that spells something that could be useful for your business, let Specialty Answering Service know. We might be able to obtain that number for you to use as your forwarding number. While we do not supply vanity numbers, it may be possible to utilize this tool to search for a fun combination within your area code to represent your business!

It is very possible that your number won’t yield any interesting results. Some results may spell words, while some may only spell prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations or acronyms, mixed with numbers. Note that the numbers 0 and 1 do not correspond to anything on the key pad. For reference, the other numbers on your dial pad correspond to the following letters: 2 – ABC, 3 – DEF, 4 – GHI, 5 – JKL, 6 – MNO, 7 – PQRS, 8 – TUV, 9 – WXYZ.

We thought it would be fun to make! Plus, who doesn’t like finding out what their telephone number spells?

The number tool search engine generates results using a dictionary file. The dictionary file does not contain every single word, but it does have most words. That means it may not have the word listed that you know your number spells. In addition, the search program has a time limit so that it doesn’t use up a considerable amount of your computer’s power. Some words may fall outside of the time the program has to retrieve them.

The number tool search engine will post the last three telephone numbers’ results in the scoreboard. You also have the option to share your results with friends on Facebook or Twitter. If you are concerned about privacy, you may not want to use this application.

Of course! The results are delivered from an open source dictionary file which is chock full of weird appreviations and nonsense words like VGB and LLR. We will be working to clean up the dictionary and add some other words not included like popular names and some locations like cities and towns.
